OSUN IS FARMERS/HERDSMEN VIOLENCE FREE COURTESY OF AREGBESOLA'S PROACTIVENESS by Progressives e Group Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola' foresight in leadership and efficient management of people and resources was recently recognized and pronounced through the publication of a research conducted by John's Hopknas University, Maryland, United States (USA) on Nigeria Social Violence Database (NSVD) in relation to death from herdsmen and farmers conflict (2016). The report as shown in the data below depicts Osun as one of the few states with no death casualties at all in the country during the year under review. It would be recalled that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as a pragmatic governor in 2014 sensed this and immediately set up a special committee on peaceful coexistence among all ethnic nationalities in the state called "Committee on Peaceful Coexistence between Fulani/Bororo and Crop farmers in the State of Osun under the Chairmanship of Hon. Mudasiru Toogun since June, 2014. De

You may not be happy with my message today, but tomorrow I know will tell someone that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has laid a good template for the State to survive i

PRESS STATEMENT THERE IS NO SPREAD OF LASSA FEVER IN OSUN, ONLY ISOLATED DEATH CASE OF VICTIM FROM ANOTHER STATE The state government of Osun wishes to inform the general public that there is no outbreak of Lassa fever in any part of the state. There has not been any report on the spread of the disease by our medical personnel who are observing patients in hospitals. There is no reason for anybody to panic on the report of a suspected Lassa fever case in the state. What was reported is an isolated death case of a young man who came from a neighbouring state. The young man who was suspected of carrying Lassa fever disease from the neighbouring state died at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife. As a proactive measure, the medical personnel had to quarantine those who had contact with the strayed deceased for observation. This is a normal medical procedure, and does not mean the quarantined people are possibly carrying lassa fever disease. As at t

OSUN HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY: A COMPLEMENTARY PARTNER TO AREGBESOLA'S SUCCESS IN OSUN.... By Progressives e-Group No one will understand or appreciate the great work Osun House of Assembly is doing to ensure Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola's administration fulfil all his promises to Osun people until such a person visits and watch the house at plenary. Osun Assembly members are simply a round peg in a round hole. Since last week Monday, the House has been welcoming ministries, departments and agencies to come and defend their 2018 budget proposal under the House Committee on Appropriation led by Hon. Kamil Oyedele of Orolu/Irepodun State Constituency. The budget defense sessions were not only thoroughly participatory but fruitfully engaging. Government policy is a process not a magic

Government policy is a process not a magic Truly It was tough at the beginning, from high cost of commodities to states not able pay workers salary, but PMB bailed us out, Now that the benefits of suffering re being identified, the price of commodities is being bow for the government policies. Electricity supply is improving compare to what we had in previous government, infrastructure is being seriously attending to. Over 5million pupils re being fed once daily, the meaning of this should be knwn to elites, if pupils av reason to go to school their mind will also be in class. No federal civil servants will no want PMB to continue, only the corrupt ones, bcoz what seems to be difficult is already tacked, from salary to allowances and bonuses. The same man thats aiming to go to the poll for reelection next year will never pray for problem, let alone instigating killing of his people bcoz of what? so Herdsmen killing is politically motivated and I trust PMB he will find solut

Farmers are making progress, please join them

In 2017, Nigerian farmers made $35 Million (N12.6 Billion) from exporting the Hibiscus plant aka Zobo. That is almost double the $20 Million that Hibiscus exporters made in 2016. Via its Export Improvement Initiative, the government is helping exporters position commodities for the export market. Dr Vincent Isegbe, Coordinating Director, Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service, NAQS, wants Zobo farmers to form organised Hibiscus farmer clusters/ cooperatives. Greater cooperation between farmers can yield greater investment from Government and donor agencies. Jigawa, Kastina, Kebbi, Zamfara, Borno and Yobe produce Hibiscus commercially. Dr Isegbe is urging Edo and Kwara to also grow the plant. This is how to grow an economy - explore all legitimate options available. If they continue targeting export markets ferociously, how much more can Zobo farmers make in 2018, 2019, 2020? ~ Bucky 2018
