The virtuous deeds by individuals for the benefit of mankind are not only assumed to be worthy of emulation, but a reference point commonly acknowledged as footprint on the sand of time.
Reverend Father Peter Ajeigbe of the Holy Cross Catholic Church Ikire remarked this on Thursday during the early morning mass and remembrance service held for Madam Eunice Ajoke Alabi, the late mother of the State of Osun Deputy Governor Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi.
Apart from devotional prayers of the early morning mass, other feature of the congregational devotion was prayer in memory of the departed souls, one of which was late madam Eunice Ajoke Alabi.
In his remarks, Reverend Father Peter Ajeigbe recalled with delight the virtuous attributes of the late mother of the Deputy Governor State of Osun Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi saying her lifetime has become a reference point for others to emulate.
He noted the commitment and dedication of the deceased not only to her faith but development of the church and well-being of members.
While stating that the Deputy Governor has taken after the good virtues of his late mother, the cleric prayed for repose of her soul and protection for the surviving children.
The State Deputy Governor Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi while speaking described his late mother as a jewel who has impacted positively on the lives of her children.
He recalled the way the deceased took charge of the home front for about forty Eight (48) years after the demise of their father and the way she catered for their upbringing in the absence of the breadwinner.
The Osun Deputy Governor who stated that he has continued to miss her late mother in the last seven (7) years of her departure maintained that the early morning mass was in line with Catholic tradition.
