Oluwo drops bombshell, drums up support for APC candidates as Oyetola storms Iwo and Ede for a thank you visit.

Oluwo drops  bombshell, drums up support for APC candidates as Oyetola storms Iwo and Ede for a thank you visit.

The Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu the first, has described the emergence of Governor Gboyega Oyetola as divine  from God.
The Oluwo said the toughness in  processes of selection and election before Governor Oyetola finally emerged was a fulfilment of promises of God as a manifestation of the slogan, "Ileri Oluwa" he adopted for campaign.

Oba Akanbi stated this at his palace and  later at ADC government Middle school Adeeke Iwo during a thank you visit by Governor Gboyega Oyetola to Iwo/Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa federal constituency in continuation of his “thank you” visit to all the nine federal constituencies in the state after his emergence as  governor.

He declared that as traditional rulers, their support would always be for government irrespective of differences or political affiliations.

The traditional ruler called on Governor Oyetola to reconstitute and empower the Osun council of Obas for better performance.

He said this would enable the traditional rulers in the state to contribute their quotas to the efforts  of government to  take the state to the next level.

Oba Akanbi explained further that as the custodians of culture and tradition, the traditional rulers are in the best position to champion the advocacy for tax payments.
He said this could be done by making the tax payment mandatory for their subjects and thus the need to empower them for the responsibility.

He assured that this would assist the government in its quest to jack up its revenue base for the progress and benefit of all and sundry.

The Oluwo of Iwo thanked Governor Gboyega Oyetola's government for embarking on the rehabilitation of critical roads in Iwo and all other parts of the state in fulfilment of his electioneering campaign promises.

He declared that the people of Iwo and the entire Iwo, Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa federal constituency are ready to support all the candidates of the All progressives congress APC in the forthcoming general elections of February 19th and March 3rd 2019.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola while addressing the people of Iwo, Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa federal constituency during the visit thanked them for their support during the last governorship poll.

He informed them that he is aware of the critical needs of every town and community in the state and he was impressed by the support  of the people and to further solicit for their cooperation, hence the visit.

He maintained that he was out for the visit to affirm the desire of his government to provide an inclusive government as promised.

Governor Oyetola who was flanked by his deputy Mr Gboyega Alabi, the speaker Osun house of assembly Rt.Hon Najeem Salam, the APC chairman in the state Prince Gboyega Famodun, and some party leaders and political functionaries said his administration has identified the critical needs of people which included major roads  that needed immediate attention of government.

He mentioned some of the critical township roads that have been mapped out for immediate rehabilitation to include Iwo/Osogbo road, Ejigbo/Ede road and several others and they have been captured in  the 2019 budget presented before the state Parliament.

He assured that traditional rulers and every segment of the society would not be left out in the scheme of things.

He however appealed to the people to support his government with regular payment of their taxes for his administration to be able to deliver on his  promises.

Governor Oyetola also appealed to the people to give their support to President Muhammad Buhari and all the APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections for the continued stability and development of Nigeria and the state in particular.
