*Osun Dep Gov. Receives PDP Youths Leader and followers into APC in Ikire.

A former youth leader in the main opposition party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Irewole local Government area of Osun state, Hon Kamarudeen Agbara and hundreds of his followers on Saturday defected to the rulling party All Progressives Congress (APC) in ward 6 Iyana egba Ikire in Irewole local government area.

The former PDP Youths Leader who was in the fold of the   defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) and Action Congress (AC) before joining the opposition (PDP) with his followers were on Saturday received back into the APC during a meeting of the Party members in ward 6, Ikire.

Hon Kamarudeen Agbara and his people were received into the APC by the party Chairman in the ward, Hon Kola Oladiran and the state Deputy Governor  Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi who was part of the meeting with several other party leaders.

Hon Kamarudeen Agbara said he decided to retrace his step back into the progressives having considered the  good ideology and welfarism of people which reigns supreme in the party and the progress the party  has brought to Ikire.

He maintained that he realized that his former party PDP has nothing to offer the people of Ikire and Nigeria in general hence the need for him to dump the opposition and join the winning party APC.

"I vow to work for the success of the APC in the coming elections by mobilising people towards the victory of the party in Ikire.

I have been in the progressives before and now I am back and I thank you all for your efforts and love for our people," he said.

The State of Osun’s Deputy Governor Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi while addressing the new defectors and the ward party members said the APC government has done well in providing roads, electricity, portable water, job opportunities in the council area in fulfilling its promises.

Mr Alabi said the good work of APC and the position of Ikire in the APC government in the state having been given the position of the Deputy Governor  should be appreciated by the people of Irewole local government.

He said this could be done by mobilising and giving their massive votes for APC at the coming poll.

He said a vote for APC is a vote to appreciate the party for its good work and for many more about to come.

Mr Alabi informed them that APC government is already working towards reconstructing all the critical roads in which ward 6 and all other wards in council area and across the state would benefit from and also to  renovate  all the primary health care centers in each of the ward in Osun.

He said this and many more are being worked towards by government in order to bring relief to the people.

He advised APC members to be wary of the antics of the opposition in Ikire in their own interest especially to guide against inducement and vote buying by the opposition party as witnessed in the last governorship election.

"A vote for APC is the key to take Irewole and Ikire to the next level"

Mr Alabi called on party members to take the gospel of the good work of APC from door to door in other to sensitize the people to help them take a right decision during the coming general elections.

Mr Alabi  lamented about the thousands of votes counted and recorded as voided against APC in the last governorship poll which according to him, would have given the Party a landslide victory in the first round  of the governorship election.

"I enjoyed our people to guide against the reoccurrence of such development,

You can ask for help at the polling booth during elections on how to thumbprint correctly for the APC on a space to be  made  available on the ballot paper.

The electoral law permit you to do that during election",he said.

Also speaking during the meeting, the APC Chairman in ward six, Ikire in Irewole local government Hon Kola Oladeni and a former Vice Chairman
in the local government Hon Akin Ibrahim commended the Deputy Governor Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi for  using his good office  to restore electricity and water supply in the ancient town which has been a major challenge facing the people of Ikire over the years but restored within his two weeks in office.
