Easter season is a period to intensify prayers for our land~ says Osun Dep Gov

The Deputy Governor of the state of Osun Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi felicitates and  rejoices with Christians in the State, Nigeria and the entire world  on the auspicious occasion of Easter season which marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Mr Alabi in his Easter message sent in a release by his Chief Press Secretary Mr Sunkanmi Ajiboye enjoined Christians to imbibe the significance of the feast in the Christian calendar by making themselves an advocate of peace, a light over darkness, hope over despair and good over evil as exemplified by Christ.

The State of Osun Deputy Governor emphasised the need for Christians to emulate Christ who out of love and obidience to God sacrificed himself completely in order to save the world.

He however called on people of the state and Nigeria in general, especially the Christians to use the feast period to intensify prayers for peace to reign supreme and for the day of bountiful Economic harvest to return to the state of Osun and Nigeria.

Mr Alabi also called on Christians to sustain the good spirit of total commitment and service to God and humanity as displayed in the Lenten season.

He wished the entire Christians happy Easter celebration and the grace to witness many more of it in the land of the living.

A former youth leader in the main opposition party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Irewole local Government area of Osun state, Hon Kamarudeen Agbara and hundreds of his followers on Saturday defected to the rulling party All Progressives Congress (APC) in ward 6 Iyana egba Ikire in Irewole local government area.
