Governor state of Osun Mr Gboyega Oyetola has expressed the willingness of his administration to run a participatory government that will accommodate interests of different individuals, groups, organizations,communities as well as religious bodies in the state.
Governor Oyetola stated this today while receiving in audience the leadership of Osun State Christian Association of Nigeria (OSCAN)in his office at the Bola Ige house, State Secretariat, Osogbo urged them to intensify prayers for peace to continue to reign supreme in the state.
The courtesy visit by the leadership of Osun state Christian Association of Nigeria was organised to identify with and express their support for the new governor as he commenced on a good note on piloting the affairs of the state.
In his remarks the OSCAN Chairman, Reverend Father Michael Okodua described Governor Gboyega Oyetola as an embodiment of humility with peaceful disposition and an amiable personality who has respect for humanity.
Revd. Father Okodua who expressed the willingness of the religious association to massively support the new government in the state pledged the determination of the Christian community to identify with the developmental efforts, programs and projects that will be put in place by the new administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
The cleric who solicited support from the state government implored Governor Oyetola to ensure due recognition of the umbrella body of the association as the mouthpiece to all other Christian groups in the state.
In his remarks Governor Gboyega Oyetola expressed the willingness of his government to be fair to all religious organizations in the state.
The Governor who used the medium to showcase his belief in the efficacy of prayers urged religious leaders across the state to intensify prayers in their closet for the success of his administration.
He described as worrisome the rising cases of kidnapping, killing and burglary across the state during this period noting that his administration has provided the necessary logistics for security operatives in the state to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties which according to him, is the major cardinal point of his government.
He appealed to all religious leaders in the state to form a synergy with his government by accommodating robust interaction that will discourage the activities of rumour mongers and faceless individuals who used the pages of social media and available means to truncate the existing peaceful atmosphere in the state with hate speeches and speculations.
Highlight of the courtesy visit was the presentation of plaque to Governor Gboyega Oyetola flanked by his deputy Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi and prayers for a successful tenure in office.
