The Governor, State of Osun Mr Gboyega Oyetola has assured the good people of the state that none of them shall regret for voting him into power at the last governorship election adding that effort is on top gear to make the people proud of electing him saying his new government was set for serious business .

Governor Oyetola gave the assurance in Ifetedo the headquarters of Ife South local government area of the state while presenting the staff of office and instrument of appointment to the Olubosin of Ifetedo, his royal Majesty Oba Akinola Akinrera  Oyetade, Latiri the first.
The state Governor Mr Oyetola who was represented by his deputy Mr Gboyega Alabi described the event as a unique been the first presentation of staff of office to a king by the new government in the state adding that the new king and the people of Ifetedo community should count themselves lucky.

Governor Oyetola thanked the people of Ife South local government for their massive votes for the all progressives Congress (APC) in the last governorship election in the state assuring them of better days ahead by the new government.

Governor Oyetola charged the new monarch to see himself as a father for all and endeavor to carry everyone along in the administration of the community.

He used the occasion to remind the people of the state to see the task ahead in the effort of taking the state to an enviable height in the delivery of the dividends of democracy as a collective responsibility.

He equally enjoined the people of the state to be ready to support the government by contributing their own quota in the area of regular payment of their taxes, levies and rates in order to generate more revenue for the state to be able to deliver

“The task of governing this state and delivering the dividend of democracy is our collective responsibility. We should be ready to contribute our quota .please pay all taxes and rates as and when due", he said.

While urging the people of the council area to rededicate themselves to efforts that will give peace a chance at all time and to ensure the development of the area, doing this would encourage both local and foreign investors to come to the state to invest in human and natural resources with which the community and the state are endowed for accelerated development for the community and the entire state.

He vowed that his administration would remain committed to ensuring peace and  prosperity of all and sundry.

The Governor also appealed to all the traditional rulers in the state to support the government in the maintenance of security,law and order in their various domains by working hand in hand with the various security agencies and council chairmen  to ensure that lives and properties of the people in all communities are secured and most especially to keep the unscrupulous and undesirable elements away from the state.

According to Governor Oyetola, the traditional rulers in the state should as a matter of urgent try to  encourage their subjects who are idle to be meaningfully engaged in one economic task or another for their sustainability to be able to discourage them from engaging in evil acts.
The Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II in his message, congratulated the new monarch on  his ascension of the throne and enjoined the people of Ifetedo to rally round their new king  who is the fourth Olubosin of Ifetedo for a successful reign.

The Paramount ruler who went down the memory lane of history on how Ifetedo came into existence and the age long relationship between the community and Okeigbo and what tied them to Ile Ife kingdom however called on the well meaning people in the community to give back to their community and people by bringing industries to the community to create employment opportunities and all round development.

Responding after he was being presented with the staff of office and instrument of appointment, Olubosin of Ifetedo Oba Akinola Oyetade Akinrera Latiri Il, pledged to promote unity and cordial relationship with the Okeigbo and neighboring communities adding that the period of his ancestor was characterized with peace and tranquillity in the land assuring indigenes that he would deploy his strength, time and resources in pursuit of peace that would guarantee tremendous progress in his domain.

"As I enter into a sacred pact with you, the good people of Ifetedo, to reign with utmost fear of God and promise to be fair and just to all and Sundry and I shall continuously seek God's guidance to help me meet your expectations and I am very certain that I will always be there for you", he added.
